Fantasy of Flight
On a mild October day, the John Ebstein chapter of the Avanti Owners
Association Intnernational met in Lakeland/Polk City, Fla., for their annual
meeting and “Fantasy of Flight” show, the weekend of October 25.
It was a beautiful sunny day well suited for flight by both aircraft and Avantis.
The Avantis were well represented and received “down front” parking at the
museum. Bob and Paulette Fennell made up four vinyl banners (2’X4’) telling
the Avanti story. These banners were posted outside the entrance to the
museum and were well read by the museum guests.
Several hours were spent touring the museum’s World War I and World War
II aircraft display, culminating with a group shot of the Avantis (and one
Studebaker Hawk) on the museum ramp area.
Temperatures were in the mild 80’s and the Fennell’s hospitality made it a
special weekend.
The Fantasy of Flight is about a 1.5 hour drive from where the 2005 AOAI
Annual Conference will be held.
