Avanti Kid, retired salt racer?
Speed Week 2011 is over, and this past August may have been the last time Bonneville Salt Flats racers
and spectators will ever see the Avanti Kid, Dave Bloomberg’s 1963 Avanti, speed down the five-mile
salt course. By this time next year, the car may be a permanent resident of the Studebaker National
Museum. The caveat: A cash infusion or burning desire – or racecar sale.
