On April 14th, 2006, the GATTACCA Avanti (63R2582) was used to film a scene for a southern California student movie on the University of Southern California campus. The 5-1/2 minute movie is designed to show people, places and things of the 1960s.
The student director, a young man from the Washington D.C. area, had been running the projector in a local theater while in high school. He became very fascinated by the GATTACCA
movie and the car.
To make this movie, he went on a search to find the car used for the GATTACCA movie.
Through the Avanti Club and member Don Hedgepeth, he was referred to the car owner, AOAI
member Dan Skidmore, who furnished the car for the student film project. The three other
young people in the picture had never seen an Avanti before, and, of course, were extremely
impressed.
Editor’s note: You may ask why go to the trouble of making your Avanti available for a 5-6 minute
student film? This short film will most likely be seen by young film producers, editors and others in
the film industry. Some day, it could lead to the Avanti (maybe even yours) getting the starring role in
