For over forty years you have labored for the Avanti owners of America.
First, as a young man in California, where you worked on airplanes for
American Airlines by day and on customers’ Avantis at night.
You then became an Avanti service director for Avanti Motor
Corporation during the ownership of Newman-Altman and later Steven
Blake. While still staying in service, you slowly moved into Avanti
parts where you found your niche as one of the premier suppliers
and reproducers of Avanti parts.
Concerning the Avanti Owners Association International, no one has
been more prolific in writing articles for the Avanti Magazine
and your Question and Answer column has been a membership
favorite for over twenty five years. During that time you have
served as Avanti Advisor to the AOAI Board of Directors and members,
as you are one of the world authorities on the Avanti automobile
and particularly the Studebaker R-2 and R-3 engines.
Jon, in the over fifty years since the Avanti automobile was
created few people have contributed more to the success of the
AOAI than you have and no one has contributed more to the
preservation of the Avanti automobile. For your four decades of
providing service, knowledge and friendship to the
members of the AOAI, we proudly present to you the
Lifetime
Achievement
Award
